This virtual talk show, hosted by the University of North Sumatera (USU), was aimed at students and millennials between 18 and 25 years old and was broadcast through Google Meet and a YouTube livestream.

The talk focused on “Roles, Responsibilities and Real Action: How Millennial Consumers Can Implement SDGs in Indonesia”. The 300+ attendees came from various universities across Indonesia – from Sumatra to Papua – and were drawn from diverse faculties, including agriculture, forestry, economics, biology, marketing, and more.

We are pleased that the event went ahead, as it was originally supposed to be a seminar to be held in June, but the current pandemic meant it had to be cancelled and reformulated digitally as a virtual talk show. In addition to the organisers – FSC, RSPO and the RA – resource personnel from PT. Lion Super Indo, one of largest retail supermarkets in Indonesia, and Tetra Pak attended. To show our appreciation to all those taking part, the organising parties gave phone credits to the first 100 participants, and six e-vouchers were given out to those who asked the six best questions during the show.

Overall, we were extremely pleased with the turnout, with 155 people attending via Google Meet and a further 146 on the YouTube livestream. And good news for readers – the entire recording of the Youth Talk has been uploaded to YouTube, just follow this link to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fihb0bckzhI&feature=youtu.be
