We are looking for an engaged Market Development Manager, FSC Chinese Taipei who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

FSC International is currently looking for a FSC Representative to be based in Taiwan that will formally represent FSC locally and lead activities and projects in close cooperation with relevant local stakeholders from the forestry sector, public, private, and NGO realms, and connecting with FSC members. The Representative will be part of the Asia-Pacific Regional Team, working closely with and under the supervision of the Regional Director of FSC Asia-Pacific.

 
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Development:

  • To lead the market development for FSC in Chinese Taipei in collaboration with the APAC regional team.
  • To analyse and seize growth opportunities for FSC in the relevant value chains.
  • To promote and support FSC membership growth.
  • To identify opportunities, new event formats and topics to promote FSC presence locally.
  • To organize and implement industry expositions and events, including but not limited to budget planning, business negotiation with vendors, procurement process, project planning, implementation and review.
  • To promote the FSC forest certification program to local forest owners and operators.

 Stakeholder Engagement:

  • To provide necessary guidance and support to key stakeholders, including current and potential FSC Certification Holders and Promotional License Holders.
  • To organize workshops, seminars, and events in cooperation with interested partners and stakeholders.
  • To coordinate international membership engagement activities.
  • To build and maintain relationship with key stakeholders, including corporates, governmental institutions, industry/trade associations, and NGOs, and to lead market development of FSC locally.

 Marketing and Communications:

  • To lead multi-media communications campaigns, coordinate creative contents and marketing materials, and organise different scales and formats of events for FSC brand awareness and market up-take.
  • To handle enquiries related to FSC Certification and Trademark services.
  • To develop and manage stakeholder database.
  • To monitor local news and media coverage related to FSC, and coordinate with the regional team to develop and execute appropriate response strategies.
YOUR PROFILE

Education and Training: 

  • University degree in marketing, forest economics, or equivalent.

Working Experience, Style and Skills: 

  • At least 8 years of working experience relevant for the role and responsibilities of this function. 
  • Professional experience in the following areas is an advantage: forestry, sustainability, market development, commodity and trading, project management, communication, stakeholder engagement. 
  • Understanding of forest product value chain and market forces is desirable. 
  • Understanding of integrity and credibility challenges within supply chains is an advantage. 
  • Ability to work independently, with a Can-Do attitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to plan and organize work are required.
  • Familiarity with FSC’s programs, activities, policies and standards will be an advantage.
  • Occasional overseas travel is required.

Language & Communication Skills: 

  • Fluency in English and Chinese (spoken and written).  
  • Proficient in using standard productivity software, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of big data analysis and AI tools for marketing is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team. 
  • Experienced in communicating with multi-stakeholders, including the media, is advantageous.
