As China remains the largest producer and exporter of textiles and apparel globally, FSC China is taking significant steps to improve corporate social responsibility (CSR) across the industry. Recognizing the environmental and social challenges linked to large-scale textile production, FSC China has partnered with the Office for Social Responsibility of CNTAC (China National Textile and Apparel Council) to promote sustainable practices.

Earlier last month, this commitment was solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the "Forests for Fashion Forever" Sustainable Textile Forum in Shanghai. Supported by the FSCI value chain development team and the APAC regional team, the forum drew 60 professionals from the industry. Notably, IKEA China announced its goal of achieving 100% FSC-certified fiber by 2025.

This MoU marks a crucial step in shifting the textile industry towards responsible sourcing and sustainable resource use, aligning with global CSR trends. FSC China’s efforts emphasize the importance of collaborative action in safeguarding environmental integrity within one of the world’s most significant industries. Promoting FSC-certified products is central to this approach, as these products ensure that forests are managed in a socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable manner.
